SUMMARY:On the Trail of St. Francis of Assisi
DESCRIPTION:The life of St. Francis of Assisi was a continuous journey. His strong calling to preach led him to undertake long journeys to spread the Gospel and bring peace to regions ravaged by war.\nThe geographical map of his spiritual life began and ended in his hometown\, Assisi\, where he renounced his father’s wealth and\, in the church of San Damiano\, received the call from the Crucified Christ to “repair His Church” in 1205—and where he later composed the Canticle of the Creatures\, a prayer of praise to God\, the Creator of all things. \nA bibliographic exhibition at Angelica traces the stages of his life in Italy and beyond\, showcasing some of the most significant volumes related to the saint’s life. \n

SUMMARY:TREES by Giuseppe Mortillaro
DESCRIPTION:Those dry\, pitiful branches that once twisted in their desperate attempt to protect those poor\, scrawny crowns are now green. Though old now\, they are finally crowned and offer shade.\nFurther on\, once we reached the marina\, there was a pine grove planted for commercial purposes; and then\, on the large dune facing the sea—protected by salt marshes adorned with lilies—stood the natural pine grove with its tall\, centuries-old pines bearing all the scars of the world.\nToday\, with no protection even from the man-made forest of houses that had saved other pine trees\, they are disappearing; they are no longer there.\nThey exist\, however\, in a painting—an image captured from nature—and now they live everywhere\, wherever that painting is displayed. \nGalleria AngelicaVia Sant’Agostino 11 – Rome(11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. / 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.)OPENING\nSaturday\, November 14\, 2026\, at 5:00 p.m. \n  \n

SUMMARY:500 Years Since the Birth of Fabrizio Caroso da Sermoneta
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate this important anniversary\, the Caroso 500 project—conceived by Chiara Gelmetti and organized by the Wunderkammer Orchestra and the WKO-ADA Dance Division—has been launched\, in gratitude for the invaluable treatises of the distinguished Maestro from Sermoneta\, who has bequeathed to us these magnificent dances. Although biographical details are fragmentary (drawn mostly from his works)\, Fabrizio Caroso is known to have been a celebrated choreographer and dance master\, as well as a composer and writer. He dedicated his famous treatise *Il Ballarino* (Venice\, 1581)—reprinted under the title *Nobiltà di Dame* (Venice\, 1600 and 1605)—to the art of 16th-century dance; these are essential treatises for learning this repertoire and to which Caroso owes his undisputed fame.
