The collections include illuminated manuscripts, parchments, correspondence, and religious and civil documents that reflect the intellectual richness of the medieval, Renaissance and modern periods. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"701\" data-end=\"963\">Alongside the manuscripts from the original collection founded by Angelo Rocca, there are significant bequests and acquisitions which, over time, have enriched the collections, making the Angelica one of the oldest and most prestigious libraries in Europe.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"965\" data-end=\"1254\">The section is the subject of ongoing research, cataloguing and digitisation, to ensure the preservation and accessibility of a heritage intended not only for scholars, but for anyone wishing to discover the roots of European culture through the
