Please help us to preserve the Library’s collection by following these simple rules:

• • Please check the condition of the books before borrowing them and, if necessary, report any damage you find to the library staff.
  • Please handle and leaf through the volumes with care.
  • Please do not place food or drink on the consultation table.
  • Do not lean on the books.
  • Do not write on your own sheets of paper or exercise books whilst they are resting on the pages of open books.
  • Please do not underline or write notes – even in pencil – in the Library’s books.

  • Do not use your finger, moistened with saliva, to turn the pages.
  • Please do not remove books from the shelves in the open-access sections – that is, the reference and bibliography sections – by pulling them from the top or bottom of the spine.
  • Please observe the rules for consulting manuscripts and rare books.
