How can I visit the Salone Vanvitelliano?

It is possible to enter the Vanvitellian Hall during the opening hours of the Library, remaining close to the entrance door and without disturbing the readers.

Can I bring my own books?
Users with their own books are not allowed.
Is a reservation necessary to access the library and use its services?

Reservations are not required to access library services.

How can I consult the catalogues?

At the headquarters, through the available paper catalogues, and online, through the ‘Catalogues’ section of the website, where it is possible to view a list of all the cataloguing tools available at the headquarters and those that can be consulted online, divided by Ancient Collection, Manuscript Collection and Modern Collection.

How can I consult manuscript and rare works?

Reservations are not required for consulting and studying the manuscripts, but you must be at least 18 years old.

How can I request photo reproductions of a document?

How can I participate in the educational offer and guided tours?

An appointment can be arranged with the service manager.

How can I propose the purchase or gift of a book?

One can propose the purchase or donation of books by contacting the service manager.

How can I apply for a licence to use the library spaces?

It is possible to request the use of the Monumental Hall or other areas of the Library for artistic and cultural events, or for film or television filming, in accordance with agreements from time to time governed by a special agreement, to be authorised by the Director of the Institute and subject to payment of the relevant concession fee.
