The readers of the Angelica Library are housed in the ancient Vanvitellian Hall and have 30 tables at their disposal.

To be eligible for manuscript consultation, one must be at least 18 years of age and provide proof of the need for research and study.

Requests for consultation and return of volumesWorks must be requested at the distribution desk by filling in the appropriate forms, presenting a personal ID and the admission card previously collected at the entrance.

It is possible to apply:

  • up to a maximum of 3 manuscripts per day;
  • up to a maximum of 5 antique volumes per day;
  • up to a maximum of 6 modern volumes per day;
  • for a maximum total of 8 volumes per day.

Users must strictly observe the protection rules for consultation and, in the case of manuscripts and rare books, also the protection rules for consultation of manuscripts and rare books.

DepositIt is possible, once the consultation is over, to leave the volumes on deposit for the following days; the deposit lasts 10 days and can be renewed.
