Loan for exhibitions
The Exhibitions Office deals with all the technical, scientific and administrative formalities necessary to loan rare and valuable works from the Angelica Library for exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
The Angelica Library exceptionally grants loans of material from its collections only for initiatives with a scientific purpose or for important events of a cultural nature, organised by public or private entities in associated form.
At the time of the official request, the requesting organisation is obliged to explain the scientific project of the exhibition, specify its title, dates, venue, custody and climatic suitability, and to plan in advance any possible relocation of the exhibition to other venues.
The organisers of the exhibition should therefore send a written request to the Library Management, indicating a detailed exhibition plan, so that the latter can assess the appropriateness of the loan.
Only after assessing the appropriateness of the loan, will the Exhibitions Office send a reply and the Cultural Goods Movement Form (in as many copies as there are works requested for loan) which must be completed (limited to items 14, 15, 16, 17), dated and signed by the person responsible for the exhibition and sent to the Library, which in turn will forward it to the General Directorate for Libraries and Copyright for authorisation.
Once authorisation for the loan of the material has been obtained, the Exhibitions Office will inform the person in charge of the exhibition venue in order to define the formal aspects of the collection of the material.
