Purchases and donations
In 2023, the Angelica Library increased its book collection by 574 volumes, of which 463 were purchased and 111 were donated. There are 104 subscriptions to periodicals and 23 periodicals were donated.
The topics covered are:
– The life and works of St. Augustine
– The Reformation and Counter-Reformation
– Humanism and the Renaissance
– Italian literature from the 14th to the 20th century
– Bibliography and Library Science
PURCHASES
The criteria for selecting books to purchase are in line with the nature and purpose of the Institute and their relevance to its heritage, also taking into account the holdings of other libraries in the area and the financial resources available.
DONATIONS
Due to space constraints, the Angelica Library accepts donations of individual volumes, collections, and book collections only if they are consistent with the nature and purpose of the Institute.
If you wish to donate volumes, please draw up a list and contact the Purchasing and Donations Office.
Gifts brought or sent to the library without prior authorization will not be considered.
Works relating to the following are excluded:
– children’s literature
– school books
– art history books
– books on Rome
– books on philosophy and the Church Fathers
WISH LIST
The Library encourages and welcomes purchase requests from its users.
Requests can be sent by email or made in the reading room, where a register of desired items is available.
Each purchase request must include: title, author, and publisher, with a brief note explaining why the purchase is being requested.
