On Saturday, September 26, the Angelica Library will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in conjunction with the GEP. During these hours, visitors will be able to enter the Monumental Hall and view the bibliographic exhibition *Ancient Herbariums at the Angelica Library*, dedicated to the timeless beauty of nature.

For the occasion, the famous manuscript known as the “Erbario Cibo” (Mss. 2344–2348) will be on display; it is a collection of dried plants, compiled in five volumes, dating from around the mid-16th century.

It consists of two herbariums conventionally designated as A and B. Herbarium A (one volume), which predates Herbarium B, consists of 553 specimens arranged in no particular order on the front of the pages and, exceptionally—indicating the collector’s initial inexperience—also on the back. Herbarium B (four volumes) contains approximately 1,347 plant specimens arranged in alphabetical order and is accompanied by an index compiled by the author himself.

Admission is free, and no reservation is required.

The exhibition will be open to the public through September 30 during the library’s regular hours (Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.).
