Interlibrary loan
Users can borrow works not available at the Angelica Library from other Italian and foreign libraries through the interlibrary loan service. In order to use this service, one must also be registered in the direct lending service.
The lending library determines the arrangements for consultation, the duration of the loan, the amount of postage and the possibility of reproducing the works on interlibrary loan.
Shipping costs are to be borne by the user in accordance with the tariff schedule of the Ministry of Culture. Payment is made by postal account no. 871012 payable to the Tesoreria Provinciale dello Stato di Roma – Capo XXIX – Cap. 2584/3 with the obligatory indication of the reason for payment: “Alla Biblioteca Angelica di Roma per prestito interbibliotecario”. The receipt of payment must be enclosed with the work when it is returned. Payment by IFLA voucher is accepted.
The Angelica Library grants interlibrary loans for the same works as those admitted for direct loan. It does not allow home loans and reproductions of any kind. The loan period is 15 or 30 days from the date of receipt of the work, depending on the bibliographic material requested.
The requesting library is responsible for the work sent from the moment it is sent until it is returned. In the event of loss or damage either during shipment or through incorrect use or neglect by the user, the library will be subject to the same penalties as for direct lending.
