Eve’s Mirror is an essay on gender-based violence. A book, in more than one respect, “composite and protean.” Not only and not so much a denunciation, but a researched and evocative journey that illuminates the innermost folds of an ancient problem. Yet dramatically current. Well-grounded in the present, but not oblivious to the past and attentive to the future, “the essays, varied and complementary,” that comprise it, in fact, “traverse the history of the world, of the country and of religions.” And by analyzing “normative and jurisprudential achievements, international relations with EU commitments and the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda, the world of work, society and the family,” they represent a valuable tool for renewed reflection. But, also and above all, a call for commitment, ethical and in a high political sense, from each and every one.
