NON-PROFIT REPRODUCTIONS

Please note that pursuant to Ministerial Decree 161 of 11 April 2023, reproductions carried out on a non-profit basis for purposes of study, research, free expression of thought or creative expression and promotion of knowledge of cultural heritage are free of charge.

No fee is due for reproductions requested or performed by:

private individuals for personal use or study, or by

public or private entities for enhancement purposes.

In both cases, it is necessary that the production is carried out on a non-profit basis.

Applicants are, however, required to reimburse the costs incurred by the granting administration. The amount of the reimbursement is determined on the basis of a Unit Tariff, calculated on the basis of Table 2 of Ministerial Decree No. 161 of 11 April 2023.

REPRODUCTIONS FOR PROFIT

In cases where reproductions of cultural goods and/or the re-use of copies and images thereof are made for profit, the applicant shall be required to pay a fee that is determined by the nature of the purpose of reproduction and the circulation of the reproductions.

For this purpose, please refer to the text and tables contained in Ministerial Decree 161 of 11 April 2023.

QUALITY COPIES AND SHIPMENTS

For remote users who need quality copies and/or shipment of reproduced material, professional photographers are recommended. In the case of reproductions for editorial or commercial purposes, it is necessary to contact the photographer only after obtaining the Library’s authorisation, specifying this in the request.
